Chocolate Saltine Toffee Bark Christmas Candy Recipe | Chewy, Gooey, Rich Candy

Chocolate Saltine Toffee Bark Christmas Candy This is one of my favorite chocolate bark candy recipes for Christmas that I got from a co-worker. Actually it's his wife's holiday recipe - he would bring in this chocolate bark made from Saltine crackers, with a toffee base and topped with ooey, gooey chocolate, that was absolutely the best I've ever had!

Sometimes this chocolate saltine bark would be sprinkled with almonds, pecans or walnuts, sometimes she would make it with crushed peppermint candy canes.  No matter what, when everyone saw him carrying in the huge dessert tray, a line would form at his desk before the office holiday party even began!

Christmas Candy Recipes

Desserts are the favorite part of any family gathering. Throw in the fact that it is Christmas and you’ve got a party going on. Chocolate desserts aren't just for kids or grandchildren, but even mom and dad, grandmom and granddad enjoys them, mostly because they're thought to be bad for us, but it's still fun to eat them.

To the surprise of many, chocolate is back in the good graces of the public. According to scientists, chocolate, specifically dark chocolate contains antioxidant substances called flavonoids. One type of flavonoids, called flavanols, are active in fighting the effects of aging, cancer, heart disease, and other illnesses that strike the body. So, now you see that chocolate is good to have not just at Christmas but all year round.

There's many different variations on how to make this chocolate bark recipe, I've made it using white chocolate, and also am going to be making a chocolate chili bark using chili powder, red pepper flakes and cinnamon!

I found many of my baking supplies for a reasonable cost at Aldi stores!

Really, you can make a batch of this easy chocolate bark in no time; box it up in a pretty container and deliver some holiday cheer to your family, friends and neighbors!
